Insomnia

Dormonoct is a short-acting benzodiazepine with hypnotic properties and a half-life of 6 - 8 hours.
Dormonoct has little effect on paradoxical sleep patterns (REM).

Triazolam, marketed in English-speaking countries under the brand names Apo-Triazo, Halcion, Hypam, and Trilam; is a benzodiazepine derivative drug.
It possesses pharmacological properties similar to that of other benzodiazepines, but it is generally only used as a sedative to treat severe insomnia. In addition to the hypnotic properties triazolam possesses, amnesic, anxiolytic, sedative, anticonvulsant and muscle relaxant properties are also present. Due to its short half-life, triazolam is not effective for patients that suffer from frequent awakenings or early wakening.

Flunitrazepam is marketed by Roche under the trade name Rohypnol. It is a powerful hypnotic drug that is a benzodiazepine derivative.
It has powerful hypnotic, sedative, anxiolytic, and skeletal muscle relaxant properties.
Flunitrazepam is commonly prescribed for the treatment of insomnia. Insomnia can be described as a difficulty falling asleep, frequent awakening, early awakenings or a combination of both.
Flunitrazepam is a short-intermediate acting benzodiazepine and is sometimes used in patients who have difficulty in maintaining sleep. Intermediate half life benzodiazepines are also useful for patients with difficulty in maintaining sleep eg loprazolam, lormetazepam, temazepam and may be preferable to long half life benzodiazepines which typically cause next day sedation and impairments. Hypnotics should only be used on a short term basis or in those with chronic insomnia on an occasional basis.
